As we gear up for HealthTechX 2025 and the HealthTechX Awards, find out how one of last year’s brilliant finalists is shaping the future of preventative health

In this Hall of Fame feature, we catch up with SiSU Health and CEO Samantha Fay on how they’ve delivered more than 1 million health-checks, scaled at record pace and proven that community-based, personalised prevention data is no longer the future, but delivering impact today.

From community rollouts to corporate health programs, SiSU is re-writing the playbook on health outside traditional provision — and investors, policymakers and employers are taking notice.

Tell us about your business in short.

SiSU Health is a digital health business focused on prevention. Our self- service Health Stations and digital tools deliver accessible in-community screening and triage solutions that support population health, empower individuals and help reduce health inequalities.

Can you share a specific success story or case study that demonstrates the real-world impact of your innovation?

Our platform generates real-time, accurate population health data so we see the real-world impact of all of our solutions. Whether in places such as Southwark and Luton, where local authorities are using our platform to reach underserved communities with preventative health checks and earlier risk, or with employers such as JLR and the AA, using our platform to support employee health and wellbeing, delivering both health improvements and the measurable economic benefits.

Tell us about your last 12 months. What have you found most exciting, and most challenging?

It’s been a year of exceptional growth. We surpassed 1 million self-service health checks and expanded our reach through new delivery channels — launching a digital NHS Health Check, a multi-national employer solution in 17 languages and deepening our presence in communities across the UK.

Our biggest excitement? This year, we saw community and employee health come together through the NHS Workforce Cardiovascular Health Check Programme, where SiSU Health delivered approximately 30% of the national NHS Health Check target for this initiative!

Our biggest challenge? Keeping up with demand and ensuring we continue to deliver measurable impact as we grow.

What about the next 12 months? What excites you, and what keeps you up at night?

We’re excited about building on the momentum to deliver prevention at scale — support more individuals to improve their health, accelerating our roadmap, embedding in more workplaces, community health pathways, and expanding partnerships. Plus our growth in Europe!

What keeps us up at night? Unlocking more pathways and seamless integrations with Partner and NHS systems, so we can further grow our impact and improve the User journey.

How optimistic are you feeling about your space and its potential to have real impact? What trends are you expecting to see play out this year?

We’re extremely optimistic. Prevention and early detection have never been more urgent and were strong themes in the new NHS long-term plan. Digital tools like ours are increasingly being recognised as critical infrastructure for population health.

This year, we expect to see:

· More investment in community-based screening

· Growth in digital NHS Health Check delivery

· Increased demand for biometric health data to support personalised care

What topic or trend has flown under the radar in your opinion? What should we be talking about more?

The real power of in-community solutions (outside of the GP surgery) and prevention data as a strategic asset - not just for health outcomes, but for wider social and economic planning.

We do need to be cautious though. There’s been a strong focus on apps and at home tools, but many face challenges with low engagement and rely on self-reported data which is often inaccurate.

What impact did HealthTechX and the awards nominations have on your business? Have there been any unexpected opportunities or conversations as a result?

HealthTechX helped raise our visibility with key stakeholders and kick-start valuable new conversations.

How has regulation or government policy affected your work over the past year? What changes would you like to see?

The newly published NHS Long Term Plan is a positive step - it places prevention, health equity and digital innovation at the forefront. We’d like to see this direction backed by clearer plans and frameworks, to help proven solutions like ours scale faster.

Collaboration is key in HealthTech - what partnerships have been most valuable to you, and what kinds of collaborations are you looking for?

Our most valuable partnerships to date have been with local authorities, NHS, and corporates committed to improving health. These collaborations have allowed us to embed in communities and workplaces, reaching people where they are and proving impact.

Looking ahead, we’re keen to partner with more of these organisations, but also those that can help scale our impact further. That includes pharmaceutical and life sciences companies exploring real-world prevention data, and academic and research institutions looking at population health insights.

We believe collaboration is key to building an intelligent, connected prevention eco-system - and we’re ready to work with others who share that ambition.

AI and automation are shaping healthcare in new ways - how do you see them impacting your area of expertise?

AI will be a gamechanger for prevention - especially in risk stratification and personalised signposting, but it must be grounded in high-quality input data.

What would you say to a new investor looking to invest into HealthTech?

Focus on companies that combine clinical integrity with commercial scalability. Prevention is finally getting the attention it deserves, and models that are rooted in real-world impact and strong partnerships - like SiSU Health - are best placed to grow sustainably.

And finally – who would you nominate for a HealthTechX Award? Who is the company to watch?

We’d nominate Genomics Ltd., a company at the forefront of genomic risk intelligence and preventative data science.
